Headaches & Migraines

Headache pain encompasses a broad range of discomfort felt anywhere in the head, scalp, or neck, often described as pressure, tightness, or throbbing. Migraine pain is a specific type of headache disorder characterized by recurrent attacks of moderate to severe throbbing pain—usually on one side of the head—frequently accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and heightened sensitivity to light and sound.

Symptoms

Headaches

Dull, aching pain or pressure around the forehead, temples, or back of the head

Tension or tightness in scalp and neck muscles

Occasional sensitivity to light or noise (in tension‐type headaches)

Migraine

Intense, pulsating or throbbing pain, typically localized to one side

Nausea and/or vomiting

Photophobia (light sensitivity) and phonophobia (sound sensitivity)

Visual disturbances (aura) in some sufferers, such as flashes of light or blind spots

Worsening of pain with physical activity
